WHY IS THE EXOSKELETON
SO UNIQUE?
First and foremost, this is a Russia-made product in the development of which the engineers took account of the domestic market distinctions and peculiarities of rehabilitation centres. That approach enabled to achieve unique product specifications and make it able to stand competition in Russia and abroad.
The exoskeleton is an automated mechanism adapted to the structure of human lower limbs, provided with a battery and an external control module. The device is intended for adults and is set to motion by synchronised servo actuators. We’re about to finish developing a similar exoskeleton for children and teenagers.
ERGONOMIC FIXINGS AND MULTIPLE ADJUSTMENTS (PELVIS WIDTH AND DEPTH, FEMUR AND LOWER LEG LENGTH, FOOT SIZE) ADAPT THE DEVICE EASILY TO ANATOMICAL PARAMETERS AND ATTACH IT RELIABLY TO A PERSON, ENSURING MOVEMENTS WITH MAXIMUM COMFORT.
Symbionix engineers managed to make the Companion exoskeleton an embodiment of hi-tech advantages. The unique structure is made of advanced materials, high-impact plastic and a titanium alloy — the exoskeleton weighs only 8.5 kg, being one of the lightest and most robust in the world.
The exoskeleton exquisite and stylish architecture can easily cope with the weight up to 120 kg and instantaneously adapt to the body anatomical parameters, helping a person up to 2m tall feel naturally and comfortable, no matter what or where he/she might do or be.
The device is convenient for everyday use – the folded exoskeleton has the dimensions of 55х40х35 cm, which makes it suitable for transportation and storage in household. You can take Companion for a short stroll or a whole travel, it would not occupy much space in the trunk.
A latest generation quick-disconnect compact battery is a crucial element of the exoskeleton. This solution enables longer use of the Companion where additional power sources are available. The battery’s increased capacity ensures a human self-sustained locomotion for 3 hours in active versus 5 hours in passive mode.
The battery case features a convenient charge indicator that helps promptly evaluate the exoskeleton operation time. A dedicated signal will sound when the battery is discharged and needs to be replaced!
BENEFITS
The diversity of unique motion modes (walking, rising and squatting, height and step length adjustments, stair walking) and a user-friendly remote control panel make it possible to use the device for various purposes in the urban environment. The operating temperature range (from -30 C to +50°С) and structural integrity likewise expand the exoskeleton usable range in the weather conditions typical for Russia.
The prompt adaptability to programmes of rehabilitation centres is the most crucial feature of the Companion model. The exoskeleton is designed for rehabilitation of humans with various injuries and diseases, such as:
- muscular dystrophy
- traumatic brain injuries
- spinal cord injuries
- neuromuscular diseases
- blood strokes
- neurodegenerative diseases
